Judging by the looks of this website the last couple months you would have assumed I gave up the internet for Lent. My last post was the first Sunday of Lent and there has been nothing since then. No, I didn’t give up the internet or evangelization for Lent. My lack of taking care of this website is attributed to the sin of sloth (80%) and some recent changes coming in my priesthood (20%). I’ve been fighting the sin of sloth for most my life and someday I will beat it. Hopefully that day will come sooner rather than later…ha ha!
For the changes going on, I was recently appointed as pastor of my current parish assignment, St. Edward, beginning July 1. This was a big surprise to me and since finding that out I’ve been occupied with other things as I prepare for this new role. Please pray for me as I become the pastor of St. Edward. I’m very excited; but, also nervous as I take on this new ministry. Being a pastor is a big deal in the life of the Church because that Pastor is responsible for making sure his people get into heaven. Just as a husband and wife as responsible to get each other and their kids to heaven, the pastor has to bring the whole parish (and community) to heaven. That’s a HUGE responsibility. So, please pray for me that I will do my best and not let the administration get in the way.
Well, that’s all I have for now. I fully intend to post more from now on, especially this month as we celebrate our Blessed Mother. Please pray for me and know that I’m praying for you.
